Geocache Description:

A set of geocaches placed in the grounds of Penrhyn Castle.

The current Penrhyn castle was built between 1820 and 1833 for George Hay Dawkins Pennant. The architect was Thomas Hopper, a well-known designer.
The castle is constructed in a neo-Norman style and has formal gardens as well as beautiful parkland.
The estate came under the care of the National Trust in 1951.

The paths on the estate are mainly tarmac or gravel, but may be muddy, especially after rain. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear. There is holly in this area - beware of the prickles!
The National Trust manages 25000 hectares of woodland in the UK. The trees at the geocache location are some of the biggest on the estate. The beech tree here is particularly impressive.
