Geocache Description:

A set of geocaches placed in the grounds of Penrhyn Castle.

The current Penrhyn castle was built between 1820 and 1833 for George Hay Dawkins Pennant. The architect was Thomas Hopper, a well-known designer.
The castle is constructed in a neo-Norman style and has formal gardens as well as beautiful parkland.
The estate came under the care of the National Trust in 1951.

The paths on the estate are mainly tarmac or gravel, but may be muddy, especially after rain. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear.
This geocache is placed near to the solar panels but please do not touch the panels.
The solar panels at Penrhyn generate 42 000 kwh per year which equates to about 25% of electricity used by the estate. There are 200 panels altogether.
