The view of Lake Louise from the Big Beehive:
Big Beehive Summit Elevation: 2,272 meters
The Big Beehive was named by J. Willoughby Astley in 1890 because it resembles a giant Beehive. Astley was born in Perranuthnoe which is located on a bay in the extreme southwest of Cornwall in England, and was the manager of the first "chateau" on the shores of Lake Louise from 1890 until 1894. The Big Beehive was first ascended by Samuel Allen in 1891, a famous mountaineer in the Canadian Rockies. From the Big Beehive you are presented with an amazing view of Lake Louise and the surrounding peaks.
