🇬🇧 Since 2013 GIFF stands for "Geocaching International Film Festival" - it's an annual short film competition organized by Groundspeak. On one special weekend in autumn the visit of an event where the finalists are shown (length about one hour) will be rewarded with a souvenir. After two years as guests we wanted to check out how difficult it could be to host our own GIFF-Event.

Après avoir été pendant deux ans les invités de ce genre d’évent, nous voulons essayer d’organiser notre propre évent GIFF.

Wir erhoffen uns einen gemütlichen Abend, bei dem leckeres Essen und quatschen mit netten Leuten nicht zu kurz kommen. Gleichzeitig möchten wir allen die Möglichkeit bieten, die präsentierten Filmchen nicht bloß zu sehen, sondern auch zu hören, was erfahrungsgemäß gar nicht so einfach ist. Deswegen stellen wir uns folgenden Ablauf vor:
ab 18 h: ankommen, Getränke / Essen bestellen, essen und klönen; im Hintergrund laufen die Finalistenfilme stumm, evtl. mit deutschen Untertiteln
19:30 - 20:30 h: gemeinsam alle Filme einmal mit Ton schauen, mit möglichst geringer Geräuschkulisse im Raum
danach: Wahl des "Eventsiegerfilms" durch Abgabe eines Stimmzettels, der gleichzeitig ein Los für eine allgemeine kleine Tombola ist, außerdem ein Filmquiz, bei dem man nur mit Wissen punkten kann, also Augen auf!
Wir werden den Macher "unseres" Sieger-Films nach dem Event anmailen und eure Kommentare übermitteln.

Als Location haben wir wieder das Restaurant vom Canada Day ausgewählt und den Wintergarten mit 40 Plätzen gebucht; bitte bei der Anmeldung angeben, wieviele Stühle ihr braucht!
Der Laden bietet nordamerikanische Küche, Burger und Steaks sind prima, der Service hoffentlich diesmal nicht nur freundlich, sondern auch flott. Es gibt barrierefreie Toiletten und eine Rampe zum Eingang. Für diesen Abend verlegen sie ihren Haupteingang weg vom Wintergarten, so dass neue Gäste nicht bei uns durchlaufen. Hunde sind ausdrücklich "willkommen, wenn sie sich benehmen können." Das Team freut sich auf uns!

Wie immer wird es ein Logbuch geben und eine Kiste für Reisende. Zwischen 18:00 h und 21:00 h besteht auf jeden Fall die Möglichkeit, sich einzutragen. Wer nur zum Loggen vorbeikommen möchte, ist selbstverständlich ebenfalls willkommen - dafür ist keine Anmeldung erforderlich.

🇬🇧 We'd like to have a nice evening with you, including tasty food and pleasant talks. Additionally we want to give you the opportunity not only to watch but to hear the filmlets, which in the light of experience in the past turned out to be tricky. On that account we conceive of the following sequence:
from 6 p.m.: arriving, getting your orders, having chats while the finalist's films are shown mute, maybe with german subtitles
7:30 - 8:30 p.m.: watching the films together once, with minimal noise level in the room
afterwards: electing our "event's winner film" by ballot cards which serve as your lottery ticket for our small Tombola; besides we'll have a film quiz in which you can score only with knowledge, so keep your eyes and ears open!
We will notify the creators of "our" winner films by mail, submitting your comments.

Our event location will be the restaurant we had chosen for Canada Day, we've booked the Wintergarten with around 40 seats; please let us know with your will attend how many you need!
The premise offers north american cuisine, Burgers and Steaks are great, and hopefully the service this time will be not only friendly but fast. There are accessible facilities and an ascent to the entrance. For this evening they will change their main entrance, so incoming guests will not pass our room. Dogs are formally "welcome, if they have good manners." The team is looking forward to us!

As usual we'll have a logbook and a box for trackables. From six to nine p.m. you can certainly log. Who wishes to log only is welcome and needs no will attend.

🇫🇷 Nous espérons passer une soirée conviviale où une bonne restauration et la discussion autour de notre passion n’a pas le droit de manquer.
Ensuite nous aimerions proposer la possibilité à tout le monde de ne pas juste voir les petits films, mais aussi de les entendre. Ce qui n’est pas si simple, c’est pourquoi nous proposons ce planning :
A partir de 18h : arrivée, commander boissons/repas, manger et discuter, en arrière-plan les films seront projetés en muet, peut-être avec sous-titres allemands.
19h30- 20h30 : regarder tous les films une fois avec le son, avec le moins de bruits de fonds possible.
Après : Election du „Film vainqueur de l’évent“ en donnant son bulletin de vote, qui sera en même temps le lot pour la tombola. De plus il y aura un petit Quizz de films, où seul le savoir marque les points, ouvrez bien les yeux !
Nous contacterons le réalisateur du film gagnant, afin de lui transmettre vos commentaires et retours.

Comme lieu d’évent nous avons repris le restaurant du Canada Day et réservez le jardin d’hiver avec 40 places, dites svp lors de l’inscription combien de chaises vous occupez.
Le restaurant propose une cuisine d’Amérique du Nord, Steak et Burger sont à conseiller, le service en plus d’être accueillant devrait aussi être un peu plus rapide cette fois. Le restaurant et ses installations sont accessible en fauteuil roulant. Pour cette soirée là ils changeront leur entrée principale, les nouveau clients ne passeront donc pas chez nous. Les chiens sages et éduqués sont aussi les bienvenues.
