Geocache Description:

Welcome to our first series of caches, The Brenchley Hodgepodge (TBH).

This is a series of 26 caches; 21 Traditional, 3 Multi’s, 1 Letterbox hybrid and 1 Mystery Bonus, set over about 6 miles and should take less than 4 hours, including the bonus.

There is a café near to the start in Brenchley and a pub a few hundred yards off the route, part way round.

This is a circular route set in and around the village of Brenchley. This series will take you through orchards and small fields and along quiet country footpaths, so typical of this fruit growing area of West Kent. Although this series would suit dog walkers and children, there are a few country lane sections and a short B road stretch, so caution is required at times – although we will mention any approaching hazards in each of the cache notes. For dog walkers, there are animals in some neighbouring fields, but you will not need to actually walk through any fields with livestock

Unfortunately, due to stiles, narrowness of some of the paths and uneven ground, this walk would not suit cyclists or those with pushchairs. There are no steep hills on this route and as with all walks of this nature, the paths will be muddy at times.

We have tried to vary the types of cache containers where we can to add a bit of fun (and hence the name Hodgepodge!), but there are a lot of nano sized logs, so TWEEZERS AT THE READY! There are two larger caches for Trackables or swaps and a fine selection of double-potted 35mm film pots, but we have tried to make these more interesting by adding info in some of them to help you find the final Mystery Bonus.

This circuit was set up to be done in a clockwise direction. Can be done anti clockwise but you'll have to do some doubling back if you want the multicaches.

The coordinates, N51° 09.084 E000° 23.500 are for suggested free parking, please be aware that there is a one-way system for this car park.

We hope you enjoy this series. None of the caches are meant to be too difficult, all the Multi’s are easy, as is the Bonus. Don’t forget your tweezers and remember to take note of the bonus numbers (5 of them). But above all, HAVE FUN!!

Now for this cache: From the car park you will have to walk around 600m East to the series start, along the way are a few caches placed by other cachers.

At N51° 09.036 E000° 24.006, you will reach the gates to Brenchley church. Enter and take the left hand path - you do not need to walk down the road passed the church!

You are looking for a small clip-lock box, suitable for TB's and swappables.

Please replace carefully as this cache has gone missing a few times!

After this cache, continue down the road and take driveway on right.
