A short drive on a steep, narrow, unpaved road that could be closed in winter. Great view and a unique boulder. Requires a short steep scramble.
The Old Greer Grade (not Highway 11) runs in a southwesterly direction from Highway 12 terminating at the paved Russell Ridge Road about 8 miles south of Nezperce. The grade itself is only about 3 ½ miles before it becomes more gradual. From Highway 12 to the Russell Ridge Road is a little over 5 miles by way of the grade. The cache is a little less than a mile from the bottom.
Sturdy boots and gloves are recommended to access the cache.
