Geocache Description:

A series dedicated to the Flash's Archrival. The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates, but is somewhere in the Rossford/Perrysburg area. You can start searching from anywhere!

This Wherigo allows you to search for the cache using only distance clues (no directions). You might want to bring a map...

The Reverse Flash- Hunter Zolomon

The Reverse Flash is causing havoc all over Perrysburg and Rossford! You must help the Flash beat him by tracking down his cosmic treadmill to prevent his escape. The wherigo software can detect the distance to the treadmill to help you in your quest.

The Reverse Flash is a mantle, broadly referring to the archrivals of the various superheroes known as the Flash. Hunter Zolomon is the 2nd Reverse Flash (but chronologically the third due to a later retcon). Debuting in November 2001, he comes from a broken home, with a serial killer father who kills his mother before being killed in turn by the police. Hunter studies criminology and joins the FBI, focusing on costumed criminals. After being wounded in the leg in a case, he is kicked out of the FBI, moving to Keystone City to work as a profiler, stuck behind a desk. He befriends the third Flash, Wally West.
After an attack from Gorilla Grodd leaves him paralyzed for the waist down, he asks Wally to use the cosmic treadmill (a device allowing the Flash to time travel) to prevent his injuries. Wally refuses to risk damaging the timestream, so Hunter attempts to use it himself, resulting in the destruction of the Flash museum and giving Hunter superspeed. Hunter decides that Wally would be a better hero if he experienced tragedies like his predecessor, Barry Allen, and takes on the moniker 'Zoom' and torments Wally until Zoom is rendered comatose. He later returns during a 3-sided Rogues' War (the main collection of Flash villains) and takes part in a battle involving several Reverse Flashes and Flashes. Ultimately reliving his life through time travel, he apologizes to Wally West. He later serves as a mentor to the 4th Reverse Flash (also known as Inertia or Kid Zoom) before being betrayed. Like his predecessor Eobard Thawne, Zolomon is also a prominent villain in the CW TV shows (dubbed the "Arrowverse"), appearing in multiple shows and seasons.

The Cache

The cartridge was created by -Waldmeister- and is available to download from the wherigo.com website. -Waldmeister-'s "The first Reverse Cache [WIG]" is the original cache in this family.

The basic idea is to find the final while being given only your distance to it. To get the current distance, you can ask the Reverse Cache Box in your inventory, but it won't tell you the direction - that's for you to figure out! There's no limit to how many times you can ask, but try to keep your number of guesses as low as possible. Theoretically, you should only need 3 queries to triangulate on the cache, but in practice you'll probably need more. All instructions and necessary information needed to complete the cartridge are provided in the cartridge itself, which is multilingual.

The Reverse Wherigo is a generic cartridge that works on many such caches worldwide. To identify the Rossford/Perrysburg version, you must type this code into your player when asked:

904371

355514

835633

You should probably keep this code handy, as you'll need it if you have to restart for any reason.

Once you zero in on a spot close to the final, you can try to find it yourself without any more queries. If you make a query within a very short distance, you'll receive the actual coordinates and can follow your GPS from there. Otherwise, you probably won't need your GPS receiver at all when playing this wherigo. After you make the find, feel free to post the stats (number of queries, etc.) from your search as part of your log. There's no "completion code" for this cartridge.

If you want to create your own Reverse Wherigo, you can do so using the passcode you receive at the end of the game. The passcode is unique to you and can't be shared with other cachers. Simply choose "create" rather than "play" when starting the Reverse Wherigo and enter your passcode at that point. You will need to be at the final location for your hide, with a good signal on your device. The cartridge will then give you the exact coordinates (which you'll need when creating the geocache online) and the three six-digit sequences that identify that location in the cartridge. Write these down, hide your container and create your very own Reverse Wherigo! Just be sure to notify -Waldmeister- as a courtesy (no advance permission needed).

Thanks and happy caching!
