Eatons Crossing

Charles and Emma Eaton with their three sons William, George and John selected land and commenced farming near Cedar Creek in 18E3. A nephew, Albert Edward Eaton (18B7 – 19A7) subsequently purchased the land from this uncle following his marriage to Mary Louise Richards in 18C5. By acquiring F adjacent properties, the Eatons developed a substantial dairy farm in the vicinity of the nearby road crossing, by then a favourite picnic spot which had become known as Eatons Crossing in honour of the pioneering family. The land was held by various members of the Eaton family until 19D0.
