Take a step back in time while geocaching, and explore the grounds of the historic Potts Inn Museum. The Inn itself is a two-story wood-frame structure, a fine example of antebellum architecture, with a side gable roof and weatherboard siding, and a two-story gabled portico that projects at the center of the front, supported by square posts. Entrances on both levels have overhead transom windows. Tours of the Inn are provided for a nominal entrance fee, if you are interested. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 and is part of the Pottsville National Historic Commercial District.
In addition to the Inn, there are five log structures which have been moved to the grounds and provide a variety of historic displays, including antique farm equipment; a doctor's museum; a hat museum; and a doll collection featuring dolls dressed in replicas of the inaugural gowns of the First Ladies of the U.S. and the First Ladies of Arkansas.
The cache is a small cylindrical container, with a logsheet and a few small trade items. If you take something, please leave something of equal or greater value. That way, the cache will stay full of nice stuff for finders!
When you find this cache please take note how it is hidden and replace it back as you found it so those following you may experience the same challenge.
The Museum office is located in one of the log cabins on the grounds. If the office is open, I encourage you to stop by and tell Lauren "Thank you!" for allowing this cache to be placed here.
