Please BYO items that will help you comfortably walk & gather trash, primarily on the ground and in shrubbery, along a beautiful, easy-to-lite-moderate dirt walking trail in SLC:
- water bottle (filled for your level of activity)
- sunscreen & hat always recommended
- thicker work gloves (again, your comfort level picking up garbage)
- sturdy shoes and/or other weather-compliant wear, depending on the day's conditions
- Supplies to potentially help out Geocaches you encounter along the CITO
- Bring trackables to swap and share, of course!
The H-Rock is a big area, it would be ideal if we can break out into groups and make a big impact on this beautiful trail system.

We will have information on hand about Myrtle Spurge, an invasive species. October is a good time to assist with its removal. Myrtle Spurge is an escaped ornamental that crowds out native plants. Its sap is caustic and can result in skin irritation, redness, swelling, and blisters. You will need to wear long pants and long sleeved shirts, no open toed shoes and bring a shovel, and re-fillable water bottle. Rubber (inexpensive dishwashing type) gloves are highly recommended when pulling spurge, bring your own from home, if you can. Because of sap, we ask geocachers 12-years and under, to stick to the rubbish and do not participate in the spurge removal.
Please make sure all children have supervision and don't forget to cache as you go!
The more hands, the more impact we can make!
Stay tuned for more updates!
