Geocache Description:

Quick park and grab in Jasper.

Jasper City Cemetery

This cemetery is located in Jasper city limits.  A long time ago there was a fence which separated the African-American graves from the Caucasian graves.  This fence stood for more than 150 years and was eventually taken down in 1999.  It is believed that the oldest grave here belongs to Jane A. Barrow, born July 30, 1799 and died June 17, 1859 - however, there are more than 1,700 graves here and without spending countless hours sifting through records it is impossible to tell which is the oldest.
