[ENG] Malaspina's Castle is located on the Serravalle hill and it overlooks the town of Bosa and the whole valley with the mouth of the Temo river. The castle was built in 1112 for the will of the Marquis Malaspina, noble Tuscany family. After its construction, the inhabitants of the "Bosa Vetus" town, located near the church of San Pietro, moved near by the castle and there built their own houses to obtain protection, thus giving rise to the late medieval village of "Sa Costa ", which still holds today a remarkable historical suggestion. All the agricultural, commercial and maritime activities were resumed, but the castle and the suburb maintained their legal individuality.
The main tower dates back to 1300 and was built by Giovanni Càpula on the model of the "S.Pancrazio tower" in Cagliari. During the reign of Alfonso the Magnanimus, in the fifteenth century, the hill was fenced, built the two polygonal towers and the small church dedicated first to St. John, then to St.Andrew and more recently to Our Lady of Regnos Altos.
In the second half of the 1600 the Royal town of Bosa was completely protected by walls. In 1800 there was the first restoration by Filippo Vivanet and Dionigi Scano. The cache is located at the foot of the castle, before the entrance gate.

Un punto di vista panoramico e storico su Bosa e sulla valle del Temo!
[ITA] Il castello dei Malaspina è situato sul colle di Serravalle e domina la città di Bosa e l'intera vallata con la foce del fiume Temo. Fu edificato nel 1112 per volere dei marchesi Malaspina, nobile famiglia della Toscana. In seguito alla sua costruzione, gli abitanti della città "Bosa Vetus", ubicata nei pressi della chiesa di San Pietro, si trasferirono sotto il castello e lì costruirono le proprie abitazioni per ottenerne protezione, dando così origine al borgo tardo medioevale di "Sa Costa", che ancora oggi mantiene una suggestione storica notevole. Ripresero così tutte le attività agricole, commerciali e marittime ma il castello e il borgo sottostante mantennero la propria individualità giuridica.
La torre maestra del mastio risale al 1300 e fu edificata ad opera di Giovanni Càpula sul modello della "torre di S.Pancrazio" di Cagliari. Durante il regno di Alfonso il Magnanimo, nel XV sec., venne recintato il colle, edificate le due torri poligonali e costruita la chiesetta dedicata all’inizio a San Giovanni, in seguito a S. Andrea e più recentemente a Nostra Signora di Regnos Altos. Nella seconda metà del 1600 la Città Regia di Bosa risultava completamente protetta dalle mura . Nel 1800 vi fu il primo restauro ad opera di Filippo Vivanet e di Dionigi Scano.
La cache si trova ai piedi del castello, prima del cancello di ingresso.
