Bernie was walking the ridge above Arctic Valley one day when a pair of peregrine falcons swooped over his head. As he made his way along the ridge they followed along, popping up from time to time as if they were leading him towards this spot. Were they leading him away from a nest??Bernie never found out...but he sat down for a while and rested in this beautiful location where the falcon brought him; he left a cache behind to mark the spot. Â
This is a beautiful area to hike, with lots of geocaches. Â Bernie encourages you to visit especially in the fall, when berries are available at lower elevations (Bernie loves berries!). Bring a writing utensil because the cache is small. Nearest parking at the Arctic Valley trailhead is $5 (Alaska State Park Passes are NOT exempt). Gates are closed between 2200 and 0500 hours, so plan accordingly.Â
Cache placed under GeocacheAlaska! Park Use Permit #15-KA-1994.
Congratulations Alaskacatz on FTF!!!
