This cache has been named in line with a nearby series that i own on national trust land.
This cache is along the sea shore so is not subject to any national trust parking or admission fees and should be accessed from the parking way point along the beach without entering any grounds they maintain.
The beach is completely covered at high tide so a planned approach should be made. Tide tables for nearby are available here: (visit link)
On the way to GZ you can make out the remains of an old jetty that is marked on the OS map of the 1920's the boat house has gone but there is an old winch visible that i assume was part of it. There is a second structure I am awaiting further info on.
There are also the remains of what appears to be an observation area. where you can observe beautiful views with surprisingly little sound from the nearby road
At GZ there is a derelict watch tower from when Mount Stewart was used in the war effort ,
This structure is possibly dangerous so should not be explored. The cache can be accessed without touching the structure.
Enjoy your walk along the path and the views of Scrabo and towards Newtownards
