This is the first of a series of caches around Abbots wood near Woodcote.
The route follows an old well defined logging trail. All caches are straight forward to find. However, my GPS did bounce around a bit under the tree cover so they might take a bit of hunting to locate. All caches in the series just contain a log sheet - please bring your own pen.
Please note that the path does get close to the A4074 in one place, so if you have dogs that have a habit of chasing squirrels and rabbits, it might be an idea to keep them on the lead for a while.
Recommended parking is along Long Toll at N 51° 31.145 W 001° 03.835. From here you also pass two other caches en-route.
There is plenty of wild life in the woods if you keep your eyes open. I've spotted deer and the odd slowworm during my walks with the dogs. There are also plenty of blackberry bushes on the trail, so if you visit during late August / early September, bring a bag!
PLEASE NOTE: my garmin GPS was jumping around quite a lot under the trees so the coordinates to all caches in the series might be a bit unreliable
