Cleaning Up the Beach (CITO) (Southland) Cache In Trash Out® Event

As with most beaches there is always a lot of plastics, rubbish and other interesting things to be found.  Its been over a year since we last did a clean up and we thought we would return for another clean up.

With the upcoming September CITO Week and corresponding souvenir badge available this is a good opportunity to give back to the Southland Community by picking up some of the rubbish, have a catch-up with new and seasoned cachers, enjoy the scenery offered by the area and of course collect a souvenir.

Rubbish bags will be provided and a limited amount of gloves. We will try and recycle as much as we can so will try and keep plastics and rubbish separate.

Where: Ferry Road entrance to Oreti Beach, should be parking off on the side track

When: 24 September 2017, 12.30 to 1.30pm or longer depending on weather...

Please Note: As this is an exposed part of the coast please be aware there maybe quick weather changes, please have appropriate clothing,  The area has stoney and and sandy terrain with scrubby bushes and grasses so sturdy footwear are recommended.
