This cache is reminiscent of history, but also the present. Find it next to the covered picnic shelter housing an antique community landmark.
Appreciate learning a little history while you’re geocaching? This cache is located in Piney, Manitoba next to the very first firehall built in the Rural Municipality of Piney. The RM of Piney has a long history of fighting fires and beating them. This cache is represented by a fire truck monument, which pays homage to the past and present heroes who fight fires and save lives. Right next to the cache, under the picnic shelter, is the RM of Piney’s first fire truck, a 1946 Diamond T that was purchased from the Winnipeg Fire Department after they retired it.
