Geocache Description:

One of a small trail of caches along a beautiful stretch of the Shropshire Union Canal. This usually peaceful area is great for walking, the canal has a wide grassy towpath and there are sweeping views to the Wrekin standing 1,335ft over the North Shropshire plain. You could take in the Wharf Wander and Canal Walk series of caches too. This trail can also be accessed from the Park Heath road bridge (canal bridge 48) south of Soudley.

The cache isn't too far from The Wharf Tavern - back in the day, there was a good old walk from this Wharf at Goldstone to the Wharf at Shebdon, sadly now closed - passing through the wharf of the factory at Knighton.

I've tried to steer clear of the moorings, however beware of muggles especially at weekends when this stretch is used by an angling club. It can be very busy here between 9 and 3 if there is a competition day.

The cache is a small canister, but big enough for swaps.

Please be aware of dangers of water and some steep canal embankments.
