Welcome to TEAM MYSTERY INC's Virtual Reward - "Sharon Temple - Children of Peace". Great to see the release of 4000 new virtual caches and very happy to have been selected to publish one. Can't wait to see all the Awesome virtuals that will come out this year.
After some careful consideration we have decided to place our Virtual reward at the Nationally Historic site of the SHARON TEMPLE.
The Sharon Temple was constructed between 1825 and 1831 by the Children of Peace led by David Willson.
It's design is Willson's vision of Solomon’s Temple and construction was led by Master Builders Ebenzer Doan and his brother John.
The Temple was an amazing structure at the time, dwarfing other buildings of the day in sheer size and beauty, it is still awe inspiriring today more than 186 years later. Incredibly it was only used once a month to collect alms for the poor and a few other special occassions, such as "Illumination" which still takes place on the first Friday in September. The Temple was rescued from demolition in 1918 and reburbished in 2011 along with other buildings on the site.
There is a great deal of interesting history about the Temple and The Children of Peace available on the Temple website, that can provide you with greater understanding of the historical significance.

To log this virtual you will need to:
1. Find the white plaque located at the corner of the Office/Gatehouse building (Posted coords) and send me the the year for the Queensville Library, Drug Store, Bank and Bakery.
2. Locate the Burgandy information plaque (wpt 00) at the front of the property along Leslie St. and tell me who rescued the Temple from demolition in 1918
3. Post a photo of the Temple with your GPS, or a thumbs up to show you were there! (You do not have to show your face if you don't want to).
