Geocache Description:

Welcome to the John Walter Museum! This is one of my favourite places in the city. BVKbugger and I spent many Sundays here with our parents quite a few moons ago! Every time I come here now with the frogettes I fondly remember those days...

When I was given the opportunity to place this virtual cache in August of 2017 I didn’t really understand the significance of the honour that was handed to me. Initially I was going to ignore the message that I received but after mentioning it nonchalantly in passing to the bug man and having him freak out about my ignorance, I realized what a big deal this really was! WOW, now I felt the pressure! So where do I place it?! I spent many hours thinking of all the great locations that this city has to offer and I just kept coming back here; back to my youth, back to the past, back to the people that built this city, the city that I love, where I grew up, where I'm raising my girls. The city where we live but that many people don’t know the history of! If you've never been here before, I hope you take some time to enjoy the area and learn about John Walter and his contributions to our fair city. If you have been here before maybe you’ll learn something new or see things with fresh eyes! I do highly recommend coming here on a weekend in the summer when the houses are open for viewing and you can speak to an interpreter about life in Edmonton during the early days but you can of course log this cache anytime, 365 days a year just by visiting the location; all the answers are here... Either way, I hope you enjoy this virtual cache experience!

In order to log this virtual cache you must send me the following answers. (Do not post your answers on the cache page, contact me directly through this site!):
#1 - How many large interpretive signs are located here?
#2 - In which house were John and Annie Walter’s two sons born?
#3 - What colour is the trim on John’s first house?
#4 - Which industry was John Walter most successful in?
#5 - What four ‘luxuries of the day’ did the third house have? And would you call it blue or green?, I can’t decide...
AND...most importantly!
#6 - The little frogette recently attended a birthday party here and was able to sneak a peek upstairs in the first house! The general public has not been able to go upstairs in this house for many years due to structural failure and I can’t remember the last time that I was able to enjoy that experience. (sigh!) With that said, the first house is by far my favourite house and I want to know which house is your favourite! In order to validate your presence here please post a black and white picture (in keeping with the time period!) of yourself (or your gps, your foot, your favourite hat etc.) with your found log in front of your favourite house for all to see! I can’t wait to see which house you all like best...
