ALL SAINTS, EAGLE
All Saints, Eagle is a Grade II listed building, achieving the status on 23 August 1967.
The war memorial arch is also Grade II listed, achieving the status on 9 December 1983.
All Saints was built in two distinct stages. The church dates from the 1200s but was in such a state of disrepair at the trn of the C20th that is was all demolished except the tower. The re-building of the church was carried out between 1903-4 by J.T. Lee of London. The nave, north aisle, south porch and chancel were all rebuilt.
More than £2,000 was raised towards the re-building with donations coming from, amongst others, The Order of St John of Jerusalem and the Prince of Wales (later King George V).
All the internal fittings and stained glass are from the re-build in 1903-4. The oulpit and choir stalls were carved at the School of Carving under the direction of Rev. T. R Seddon of Chelmarsh Salop and were gifted to the church by 'The Ladies of the Manor'. The Standard in the church was gifted by a former Bailiff of Eagle. The Rood Screen was given in memory of Walter Baldock former Schoolmaster of Eagle who died in 1935.
The organ was built in 1950 by Cousans of Lincoln. It was refurbished in 1997 with a grant from the Foundation of Sport and Art.
