Geocache Description:

Interesting History Tidbit on the Lincoln Highway

Cache is a bison tube, log only, so bring your own pen/pencil (BYOP)

Hard to believe, but this road use to be part of the Lincoln Highway,  Back in the day, the hill along what is now Mt. Vernon Road was too steep for the vehicles of the time, so the Highway followed this road to avoid the hill. (I said "hill, what hill?)"

I was out caching with a friend of mine while visiting him, and we walked down the street to get Lincoln Highway History Lesson, As I was searching for that cache, he was reading the informational material on the kiosk. Very interesting history.
