On my most recent visit to Centre Island with Mini, my neice, and my brother, I expressed my desire to hide a cache here. Hiding a cache here was part of my mission for the day as the Island is such a beautiful and iconic Toronto spot. It brings me back to many wonderful childhood memories as I am sure it does for many others. The crew helped me to find a spot and to hide the cache; we all shared in the moment! It was fun, and the spot in Franklin`s Garden doubles up on the childhood memories as I read the stories growing up and now share them with Mini.
Taken from the City of Toronto Webite:
An interactive garden for kids and families on the Toronto Island Park. Franklin Children's Garden is inspired by Franklin the Turtle from the celebrated book series written by Paulette Bourgeois, illustrated by Brenda Clark and published by Kids Can Press: a Corus Entertainment Company.
This park features:
Little Sprouts Garden, TD Storybook Place, Snail Trail, Hide and Seek Garden, Franklin's Pollination Station, Pine Grove and Turtle Pond.
On your quest to find a fairy tale ending to your trip to the Island, stop at TD Storybook Place where you will find Franklin's cleverly placed friend, Goose. Being in the Storybook Place, I can't help thinking of Mother Goose!
Cache is a nano and requires height. This cache would be extremely difficult to retreive solo. I needed help to get it in its hiding spot. I highly recommend having an extra person with you to help move a bench or offer a boost. You could ask goose to offer up some help, but it looks like he will be sitting right here for a while.
