Turi is a town and comune in the province of Bari and region of Apulia, southern Italy. With a population approaching 12,000, it lies a few miles inland from the town of Polignano a Mare on the Adriatic Sea.

Sant'Oronzo is the patron of Turi. Every year the entire village celebrates Sant' Oronzo on the 26th of August. The festivities mark the highlight of the social life in Turi. In the chapel near the cemetery is a cave where, according to the legend, Sant' Oronzo used to hide before his prosecutors. When in Turi, don't miss this historic site. In front of the chapel is a parking lot with trees on both sides of the parking lot. On one side of the parking lot you'll also find a statue with an image of the "coat of arms" of Turi (a taurus with a tree).
