The geology is picturesque. There are spires with alluvial layers and volcanic layers on top of ancient sea bed material. Burros are abundant and there is desert art work nearby.
Take Copper Basin Dunes turnoff near Echo Point to the parking lot. Go west staying along the south side of the parking lot to enter the wash. Do not climb the hills, stay in the bottom and follow the two track. It's an easy drive, only 1/2 mile to the cache from the end of the black top. The two track will meander through the wash. Once through the narrows look for a large light brown sediment mud dome on your right. Past the mud dome the road will turn to the left. Stop here. The cache is hidden on the south side of the volcanic rock. You will need a high clearance vehicle and although 4 wheel drive is good to have we did not need it to drive to the cache. It's also a very easy and great walk if you like to hike. There is much to see and more memorable that way.
