When my five siblings and I were growing up on Hinch Road, we knew this as Dowdles Road. However eveyone called it Percy's Sideroad. Percy and Enda lived in the only house on this road. It was a favorite place to visit, you never felt unwelcome nor did you ever leave hungry. Totally a place not to be missed on Halloween night.
The road itself was not quite as maintained as it is today. Its hills were much steeper and it often washed out. When my oldest brother got his driving licence and a little blue Voltswagon Bug, let me just say there were some pretty exciting trips up and down this road. It is a wonder we were not hurt really, as seatbelts weren't a thing at the time.
This creeks name is Mud Creek, it actually runs through the farm that I grew up on. In the spring there is a lot of water here and is quite interesting to watch the powerful eddys that form.
