Setcases - Font del Pont Nou
Introducció
Els orígens històrics de Setcases es remunten al 965, quan el comte Sunifred de Besalú esmenta el lloc en unes donacions fetes al monestir de Sant Pere de Camprodon. Una llegenda popular, basant-se en el nom pintoresc del poble, parla d’un pare i set fills que pujaren de la terra baixa a pasturar els ramats i, sorpresos per les primeres nevades, construïren set cases a l’indret més arrecerat de la vall.
El poble es troba a la vora del Ter. La restauració de cases antigues per a residència temporal i la construcció de noves i d’establiments per donar servei als visitants que hi acudeixen atrets pels esports d’hivern i per practicar el senderisme durant la temporada d’estiu, ha donat un nou caràcter a la població, conservant però l'aire rural i tradicional.
L’església parroquial de Sant Miquel, malgrat tenir el seu origen al segle XII, no conserva ara cap element anterior al segle XV, quan fou reconstruïda.

El catxé
El catxé està situat a un bonic racó a la sortida del poble, anant cap a Vallter 2000. A sota del pont i pels voltants, sovint hi podreu veure pescadors en plena feina.

Setcases - The "Pont Nou" fountain
Introduction
Setcases’s origins date back to 965, when Count Sunifred from Besalú mentions the place by making donations to the monastery of Sant Pere de Camprodon. A legend, based on the name of the picturesque village, speaks of a father and seven children who went up the lowlands to graze cattle and surprised by the first snowfall, built seven houses in the place most sheltered valley.
The village is next to Ter river. The restoration of old houses to temporary residence and construction of new houses to serve visitors who come attracted by winter sports and hiking during the summer season, has given a new character to the population, but preserving the traditional rural air.
The parish church of St Michael, despite having its origins in the twelfth century, does not preserve any such item prior to the fifteenth century, when it was rebuilt.

The cache
The cache is located in a beautiful place at the exit of the village, heading to Vallter 2000. Beneath the bridge and in the surrounding area, you can often see fishermen in action.
