Assemble your crew to form a virtual 'mob' of 4 people (or 4 devices) at the posted coordinates. Once all 4 have checked into the GeoMob web page on a mobile phone and have had their locations confirmed then everyone will receive the coordinates to the physical geocache. Very much a teamwork cache.
So, in order to find the coordinates for the cache you need to arrange for at least 3 other people to join you to launch the GeoMob web page on a mobile device while being located somewhere around the posted coordinates at the same time. When the 4th person joins the virtual mob then everyone will get the details for the final cache location on their device's screen. Then off you go!
There is no need to log in to or register on the GeoMob page, just open the web page and make sure your phone's location is available to the browser. In the box marked "Which mob are you attending?" enter the number 3043 and wait for more people to join. You will see the number of people in the mob increase as they join.
Tips
- Make sure the browser knows your location! If it says you are 7,000 km away from the cache, your location is unknown!
- When the counter reaches the required mob size, the coordinates for the cache will pop up. Stay in your tight group formation until the information is recorded, written down, photographed, or memorized. Record this information right away! If anyone leaves the mob area, the page you are looking at may disappear & no longer show you the needed coordinates for the geocache (it takes a minute).
- Enter the coords of the final in your GPS as the page won't direct you to it.
- Feel free to coordinate with others by writing notes on this cache's page. If you will only be at the posted coordinates for a limited time, post to see if any other cachers are available to meet at that time.
- As the field is close to the walkway to the university, there are loads of students with smart phones passing by.
- A group picture with your log is not required but encouraged! Please, don't give the location of the cache away in the pictures.
- Please preserve the spirit of this Geo-Mob by not disclosing the coordinates of the final location to those who do not meet as a group as intended. Thanks.
