The Geocaching Celebration will last from 6:30PM to 8:30PM on Friday, October 13th at Lakeside Pavilion at Homestead Metro Park. Geocoins will be awarded to the first 150 cache teams completing the GeoTrail. As of August 28 there are still 20 coins left! Carry on the hunt for the Bonus Cache even after the Geocaching Celebration. GeoTrail ends October 31.
This will also be a great chance to meet fellow Metro Parks GeoTrail cachers, swap stories and share adventures. Plans for a 2018 Metro Parks GeoTrail are already in the works and input will be welcome. Also we will announce the theme for next years GeoTrail 2018.
Geocachers seeking a 2017 GeoTrail trackable geocoin must complete the trail, log the caches on geocaching.com, and return a completed form to a Metro Parks nature center. Coins will be awarded in the order forms are received. Sorry no mailed in, faxed or emailed forms will be accepted. To start your Metro Parks GeoTrail adventure print a form from the Metro Parks website, www.metroparks.net. Coins will not be mailed out, so if you cannot attend, you will need to arrange to pick up your geocoin at one of the Metro Parks.
