THE GEOCACHE is a two inch (5cm) long, coloured metal tubular container, fixed at the base of a narrow trunk behind a thick V trunk tree with a new bird box much higher up, and covered with natural camo. There is a log roll in a plastic bag, but no room for anything else so please bring your own pen or pencil. Beware of muggles on the road above, the path below, and the slope in the distance. There is a small car park at the top of the nearby slope. Wellies are recommended in wet weather. The geocache is deployed with the kind permission of Hamble Parish Council.
THE VENUE for the HSW series is Hamble South West, and covers Westfield Common. It is child and dog friendly, but there are some very steep drops onto the shingle beach of Southampton Water, so whilst the caches are in safe places, be wary if wandering around. Be careful near the road. There are some interesting views and objects. Some sections get very muddy in wet weather, so wellies are recommended. There are likely to be muggles with dogs.
