The Village Hall
Bluntisham Village Hall was built in 2003, and then 2 years later it opened its doors to the public after winning an award. The unique building was built initially as a badminton court for the community and to also provide a local venue to hire for events. The hall has a wonderful outlook across to the grounds of a cricket pavilion and is surrounded by playing fields, a large play area, and trim trail. The site is run by Bluntisham Village Hall Management Committee who run a variety of weekly events at the hall including dancing, languages and variety of sports.
The Cache
This cache is a letterbox cache, based on the traditional type of letterboxing as originally set up in Dartmoor. The cache is not at the published coordinates. The final container is found by following a set of clues that will take you around the village hall and surrounding playing field. The final container is a medium sized container wrapped with camoflage tape and contains a stamp, log book and pen. The stamp must not be removed as it is part of the cache!
Step 1
Walk round the hall until you find the location in this photo:
Step 2
Stand with your back to the wall. Start walking straight (away from the hall).
Step 3
Keep walking straight until you bump into a tree. You may choose to go round some obstacles rather than straight through them but make sure you get back to your original bearing.
Step 4
Search for the cache. Mind the muggles!
