I introduced my granddaughter Maddie, age 5, to Geocaching this weekend (Labor Day, 2017) and she loved it. Mostly she loved exchanging swag, though she was reluctant to part with some of her own trinkets. Her excitement when she found her first cache was priceless. I told her we could make our own geocache and hide it near her house and she immediately latched onto the idea. We swiped a small plastic container from the kitchen, camoflaged it with camo-tape, and filled it with a couple of baubles and a log book. Then we went up to a small park nearby and hid it where she was sure no one could ever find it. (Difficulty 1.5, so don't worry.)
Make Maddie really happy and log a find so we can look it up on Geocaching.com.
