Geocache Description:

This is a replacement of our EIGTH in this series of caches (or 'treasures' as they're called by our now 5 1/2 year old little boy) that were all made up by him (with a little assistance from Dad) as this previous was muggled & archived - Delta Park - NEW POSITION SO NEW GC. PLEASE HAVE A GOOD LOOK AND REPLACE AS YOU FOUND IT...

This is a FUN one that'll have Mom's, Dad's and little ones crawling on the ground and looking 'down low' as this is how we hid it - with my little boy placing and hiding it. The GC is just off the path that is a little off the beaten track in order to try and limit muggles, but please be aware of beady eyes who may come and muggle the GC after you've left. On weekends there's plenty traffic in this area, but obviously be aware of your personal safety and security.

This is a small / medium GC, well disguised and hidden inside of a natural object. Not meant to be a difficult find nor is the terrain challenging. Note that my GPS had 3m accuracy at all reading times. You can park very close to the GC, but rather take some time and walk one of the longer distance as mentioned below - there are a number of other GC's in Delta, along the Spruit and inside of Botanical Gardens.

There is a pencil and sharpener to sign the log book and keep the pencil sharp. You can trade small items and please do.

You can park quite close to this GC... OR...

You can park at Emmarentia Dam - Botanical Gardens entrance and take a nice walk (approx 8km round trip) to the GC - you won't regret this little extra... OR...

You can park at the local landmark pizza restaurant (Cnr Conrad Drive) and take a nice walk (approx 6km round trip at shortest or include Delta Park Loop (approx 6km)) to the GC - you won't regret this little extra... OR...

At least make a point of walking the Delta Park Loop (approx 4km) with the kids and dogs. You'll also find an awesome play area for small kids very near to this GC...

PLEASE REPLACE AS YOU FOUND IT...!

Delta Park, The Braamfontein Spruit and the trails alongside are a true gem that not many cities in the world can compete with - the former a beautiful park and the latter an artery that runs right through the heart of the city, from North to South. Both constantly frequented by Mountain Bikers, Runners, Walkers, Dogs and sadly some up-to-no-gooders.

We ride here often and believe that there should be a GC every 200m of the approx 25km of spruit, from Emmarentia Dam to Paulshof, including the Delta Park Trails - we're starting slowly but keep a lookout for the continuation of this series.

Our little boy started geocaching with us at the age of 3 in Dec 2014 and absolutely loves it, especially the GC's large enough to have lots of goodies to look through. He's now almost as good as us at finding GC's that are within his reach/height.!

Accordingly, he was very excited to hit the shops to buy goodies, bottles, notepads, pencils, etc and to pack his 'treasures' ready for deployment. We discussed this hiding place with him and agreed where the GC should go. He hid it for other kids (& adults) to enjoy finding, opening, looking through, trading and enjoying.
