South Baldy Stash II Traditional Cache

This cache replaces South Baldy Stash GC1773, which was archived. The original cache was placed in 2001 and had to have been one of the oldest caches ever. Unfortunately, even with its Smoky the Bear theme, it succumbed to the wild fire of 2015 and either burned up or was cleaned up by firefighters.

The view from the top is indeed breathtaking and is quite different now that the trees and vegetation have been thinned back by fire.

The trail up requires a high-clearance vehicle and is gated at the .45 mark from the cache. At that point you will need to hike the remainder of the way in. It's not too difficult and is a great hike due to the views.

The cache contains several dew dawds and patches, etc.
