The Mighty Sound of Maryland began as a 19 member ensemble in 1908, performing at ROTC events for the Maryland Agricultural College. Over the next century, it would grow into the 250+ member group it is today, performing for nearly half a million fans annually at Maryland Stadium and across the country. The cache's name comes from one of the band's most loved traditions - The Truck. Part parade cadence, part choreographed cheer, and all Maryland pride, the Truck steps off from the sidewalk near the GZ before each home game, winding its way past the President's House, through tailgates in Lot 1, past the Riggs Alumni Center, and into the Maryland Stadium tunnel. I placed this cache to honor one of my favorite things to do as a member of MSOM. Go Terps!
