For as long as I've been geocaching, nearly 7 years now, this was always one of my favorite hikes I first discovered because of finding Sevencards and the Labsdales caches out here. The only reason a cache wasn't placed out here is its distance from the parking, but the hike is worth it. See the 2 listed parking areas for suggestions on where best to start this cache. The Vernon Marsh Dike provides beautiful vistas of the water on both sides. The area is a place for solitude, I rarely ever see others out here. It is also dog friendly. Cache terrain is 1.5 for the first 0.5 mile or so and for the last 0.3 miles it is up to a 3 terrain depending on the time of year you find it. After the spring melt or heavy rainfall, you may need wading boots near the final. Late summer/early fall is an ideal time to avoid the skeeters and the hunters. If you come during hunting season, please wear blaze orange. The middle of winter is also a gorgeous time of year to check this area out. Really anytime of year is great as long as you have bug spray and long pants.
Cache is full of swag. Enjoy!
