Geocache Description:

Gather at location for a 6pm, look for geocaching sign/logo. Aiming to finish up by 645pm. If you would like to cook on the fire, feel free to come earlier. I hope to be there by about 530pm. We will meet at the fire pit closest to coords and the playground, if that one is taken then we will take the next closest fire pit. Look around for the Geo-sign. We will be at a firepit within 20m of coords.

This event is 2 weeks after the CO's birthday, and birthday cake (or cupcakes) will be provided to those who log their will attends before Sept 20th. CO's doing the baking laugh This event is rain or shine.

Bring Your Own;

  • lawn chair,
  • bug repellant,
  • campfire eats,
  • roasting sticks,
  • personal drink/adult beverage,
  • anything else you think is good,
  • Bring any TBs you wish to get discovered or traded.
  • We are also collecting donations to be used as prizes for CARW2018. Have an extra ammo can kicking around? Bring it in! We also accept swag items, unactivated TBs, log books, pencils, and anything else you think would make a good prize alone or when paired with something else. There will also be a donation jar if you would like to donate cash instead.

We will be talking about past and future events, like CARW2018, CITO week, International Earthcache day, Swift Current Mega, Alberta Battle Cache, and other fun geo-things.

This location is inside a National Park. Normally a National Park pass / entry fee is required, but not this year! Happy 150th Canada! Entry to all National Parks is free!!! There are three entrances to the park. South gate accessible from the yellowhead, North gate near the town of Lamont, or the sometimes tricky to get to West gate accessible from dirt range roads. After entering the park, you are looking for the Astotin lake area, beach and parking lot (not the golf course). Geo-dogs can come but owners need to abide by all park rules. Geo-kids can also come (playground nearby).  Flush toilet washrooms are not too far away. No dogs are allowed in the washrooms.
