How many times have you submitted a geocache only to have the Reviewer post a Reviewer Note stating that there is some sort of problem?
"It appears that your geocache is quite far from where you live. How do you plan on maintaining this geocache?"
"Your attributes mention that there is a Field Puzzle but there was nothing in the description stating such."
"This geocache is too close to another active geocache so please move your geocache and submit it for another review when it has been relocated."
"The terrain and difficulty ratings for your geocache seem a little high. Why is that?"
"Could you have your local maintainer contact me via email?"
The list of various problems could go on and on and I know a lot of us have felt frustrated and maybe even angry when getting a Reviewer Note stating that there is some sort of issue with the Geocache that we submitted to be reviewed and published.
However, if we step back and think about it, the Reviewers are the backbone of this game and without them working around the clock to review geocaches, this game would not exist.
Ever since I started Geocaching back in August 2014, I have seen virtually every geocache in Taiwan published by Crow T Robot, a Reviewer who has been volunteering for many, many years.
I hope all of us can take a moment, step back, and reflect on all those Reviewer Notes that may have made us feel a little annoyed—because in actuality those notes are all for the betterment of Geocaching as they help us Geocachers be even better and give us that inspiration and encouragement to create even more awesome caches, all the while upholding the integrity that is Geocaching.
