Geocache Description:

The park has some beautiful woodland walks which connect to the Fife coastal path network.

Ravenscraig park also has access to Ravenscraig castle and the Harbour master's house, located at Dysart.

Within the park there is also an extensive outdoor play area for a range of ages and abilities.

The park is very popular with local dog walkers, joggers and families enjoying the playpark or even a picnic lunch so there are always plenty of muggles about.

This is Sasha's path. There are many like it, but this one is Sasha's. It is her life. She must walk it as I must walk with her. Without this path, walking is useless. Without her walk Sasha is useless.
Sasha must walk her path true. She must walk straighter than the other dogs who are trying to sniff her butt. She must sniff theirs before they sniff hers. She will. Sasha and I know that what counts in a walk is not the ground we tread, the noise of our bark, or the sniffs we make. We know that it is the digging that counts. We will dig...

There are two ways to capture this cache, go straight for the GPS/app and navigate to the coordinates, makes sense if you are short on time, who isn't these days...alternatively, you could follow your orders and work it out using the directions given below. Don't worry, we expect you to revert back to the GPS/app if you find our directions somewhat incoherent.

This cache requires some stealth however with the direction of all those royal marines on guard you will be sure to find this cache if you follow the orders!

marines

From almost anywhere within the park, head down hill towards the lowest part of the beach, close to Dysart Harbour but not as far. You are looking for the grassy "recreational" area with a collection of picnic tables and for some odd reason, a pair of benches against the wall.

It doesn’t matter how you get there but to ensure the orders can be followed, enter the clearing with the camouflaged marines by:

your left...your left...your left, right now advance into the clearing, quick march!

  • Scout ahead for the red gash near the wall
  • Prepare to about turn into a secret, hidden stairway path
  • Bimble up the ivy path, and take a right at the large ivy stump.

You should be looking at an ivy covered almost natural/ancient wide roadway, most of which is behind you, assuming you are facing East

  • Quick March along the small path
  • Hangfire when you see a large tree next to the wall
  • Check over the wall for any muggles seated on the two benches below the wall
  • Swiftly grab the cache from the obvious hide before you get bubbled!

If you don't have the cache by now, grab your GPS/app and enter the coordinates, after all, we really want folks to find this cache and enjoy the lovely park and spectacular views.
