The co-ordinates are for the mooring area close to the canal where there will be a table to register your attendance, swap trackables, have a natter and collect trash bags, gloves and grabbers. if you have your own gloves and grabbers, please bring these along too.
There will be someone at the published coordinates for the duration of the event by the table close to where any recyclable materials you collect can be temporarily deposited until the end of the adventure when all rubbish will need to be re-located to the collection point close to the Recycling Centre.
Of course, edible treats to keep your strength up will also be available thanks to the culinary endeavours of the Wench.
So why here? A CITO event involving a short wander along the towpath of the Gloucester-Sharpness Canal that was once the longest and deepest canal in the world. In April this year, many of us joined Evil Edna's team to remove a great deal of trash from the area. As Autumn rolls in, it's high time we gave this popular area another geocacher's tidy up.
The meeting up point is at the mooring by "The Orange Supermarket" that doesn't open until 11am, giving us all a clear hour to get the grot gathered before the serious shopping begins.
Rubbish bag collection will be by the Recycling point on the far side of "The Orange" car park (with their support and permission).
This event is also supported by Gloucester City Council who have agreed to remove any collected refuse if required.
CAUTION: Deep water all the way so take care of small people, adventurous canines and idiotic litter pickers!
Children and dogs are welcome but will need to be supervised by their parents/guardians/owners.
Usual health and safety rules apply.
Be aware that the supermarket car park has a time limit for free parking. The nearby retail centre has many places to get some refreshments and there are public conveniences close at hand.
Keep an eye on any developments by logging your "Will Attend" or watch the listing. There will be an electronic souvenir for attending.
