Remembering our school history in Alberta.
I love finding all these schools that used to be. This school was first situated on the Dubois farm and was known as Old Greencourt School and then in 1926 it was moved across the road and became known as West Paddle School but it was too large to cross the bridge, so it was moved by a team of 6 horses across the fields. School opened the first Monday in March and closed at the end of December and for all their hard work, teachers received a salary of about $600.00 per year. The school was closed in 1947.
