This event will officially occur from 11am-1pm, but may fluctuate in time depending on how long it takes to pick up and how long people want to visit the area as well. This time should be fine, but since I am scheduling this event in advance I will review the tide tables and adjust the time if needed when we are closer to the event date. Portions of the trail do flood at high tide which is what I'm trying to avoid. It is reccomended to bring proper footwear that you don't mind getting wet because those sections of trail will remain somewhat muddy. The coordinates provided are for the parking area and the trailhead is very close/easy to find. Everyone should meet near the trailhead being mindful not to block the entryway. Please bring you own trash bags.
The trail itself is relatevely short with the main trail leading to the Saugerties lighthouse and a small split leading to a couple of sitting areas. A lot of the trail is sand and as said before some is also muddy (think squishy, but not puddles) so be mindful of that. Most trash I've encountered was left carelessly in the sitting area, but I'm guessing some washes up and/or gets swept away with the tide changes as well.
As always, I hope there isn't too much trash on any trail, but let's make a point on our walk to remove anything we see.
