Yes, a cache near a school, and a busy road - but enough out of the way of both to not be a problem... unless you try and find it right when students are arriving/leaving school or something ... then you might be seen ... unless you are sneaky :)
OK ... I have worked at this school for almost 15 years (in the Science labs :) ... and for about 3 or 4 years I have been meaning to hide a cache here (actually I was thinking of hiding it at the foot of the huge gum tree closer to the school, but I decided that down here, even more out of the way, is better) Yesterday I found out that today was going to be my last day here, and I remembered I still had not got around to hiding one ... oops ... My life has been a bit messy lately (which is actually related to the reason I am not still working here ... "one door closing and another opening" and all that ... finding myself and taking a slightly different path :) ... so ... I dug out a log sheet, container, etc, and actually managed to find the pile of vaguely school related swaps I had been collecting for this cache, and after I finished work I wandered around here, as the sun was setting on an era of my life, and hid this cache :) As far as I know, Canberra High is Canberra's second oldest school ... originally opened in 1938, in a different location (Now the ANU School of Art :) and later moved here ... btw, if you like trees - the huge Gum tree is up closer to the school nearer to the fence ... I have come and sat under it to eat lunch a few times recently ... on a nice warm day it was the perfect place to sneak off to and meditate for a few minutes when I was getting stressed :) Parking right beside the cache isn't a good idea ... maybe down the road a bit IF traffic is quiet ... over by the fire station may be best (I may even hide a cache over there somewhere too :) or in the school car park if you are not there in school hours (finding a park in the school carpark in school hours is nearly impossible :)
