Geocache Description:

The written language is important especially if you want to warn public land users about hazards and places that are temporarily off limits.

This is part of the 7/8 grade Pacific Heritage Academy mapping project where students imagine themselves as ancient navigators as they learn about the first Oceanic People that populated the pacific islands 7000 years ago (1000 years before the first europeans) using techniques of wayfinding without any modern instruments.  You can experience and learn more about this here before you look for this cache.  Park at the disc golf course parking lot and remember to give all golfers the right of way.  Head in the direction of new beginings or a new day, in Hawaiian Star Compass language this is the Hikina or "arriving" direction.  If you were oriented with a Star Compass with Hikina at your back then on your right Akau is the driving range.  Find your way to "Written Language" warning to stay out.
