Laurel Hunt Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Ninja Reviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

This is an easy to find geocache (transparent dry box) near a pine tree about 10 feet from the embankment overlooking Platt Springs Road. At the cul-de-sac, take obvious trail north to embankment, then turn right...hard to miss.

Prior to 2011, there was an even more dramatic escarpment (about 50 ft north) overlooking the then 2-lane country highway, Platt Springs Road (SC 602.) Growing up in this area, this was a cool place to visit; it had a commanding view, surrounded by sheer drop-offs, and well hidden by bushes (laurels, I think) & trees.

Laurel Hunt is the residence about 200 yards east of this location. It was the home of Mr & Mrs Greydon (deceased), and was the most maginicant (and really only) home within a half mile on this side of Platt Springs Road.
