The Crystal Lake/Mammoth Crest trailhead can be found at Lake George, on the northwest corner of the day use parking lot.
The moderate trail follows a series of switchbacks up to the Mammoth Crest and there are several great vista points along the way. About a mile up, be sure to take the fork to the right for Mammoth Crest (there are signs). You may see a few of our local furbearers, including chipmunks, marmots, coyote, deer and black bear, but please don't feed them.

Please ... Don't Feed Our Bears
Soon you will arrive at a scenic switchback overlooking the six lakes... From left to right: McCloud Lake, Horseshoe Lake, Twin Lakes, Lake Mamie, Lake Mary and Lake George. The cache site is directly over Horseshoe Lake.
Once at the scenic switchback, follow your GPSr a few feet off trail to a small clump of trees (it's a great spot to sit). You will find the cache there. It's hidden in a 6 inch circular tin and inside, you will find a logbook, pen and pencil, plus lots of goodies for your fair trading pleasure. Enjoy!

Good luck & Happy caching!
