Geocache Description:

Please respect this location by first walking about and appreciating the people who contributed to this community. As in all cemetery caches, only visit during daylight hours and leave the gate as you found it.

The two hills you see off to the west inspired Henry Hiatt to form a community and name it Twin Mound.  This cemetery was started in 1858 when his first wife died.  If you are in the area, you have no doubt found Campcreekers cache nearby and have read the interesting history of Mr. Hiatt. He died in 1900 and is buried in this cemetery.  While his vision of a thriving town failed, the location he selected for the town cemetery is lovely.  Take time to sit on one of the shady benches and enjoy the view.
