The first of a few caches honouring the pioneering families of Ingleburn
NOTE: You do not need to go anywhere near the train tracks. The cache can be found easily without placing yourself in any danger but take note of the warning signs of course. No trolls are involved. BYOP
This cache is place in honour of the Percival Family who lived on several hectares close to this site. Percival Street is named in their honour.
Greg Percival was one of those people who contributed to our local and state community over many years. He was a lovely person and well respected by all who met him. Greg Percival Library is named in his honour, commemorating the many years of service to Campbelltown Council as Mayor and to state government. It is a pity it was not named in his lifetime as it was richly deserved. Those old enough will know of the achievement in being a class winner in the Redex Rally in an FJ Holden in 1954. An adventurer of course.
I hope you enjoy reading his Obituary. Few can claim such a breadth of community service. Greg’s grandfather, Syd Percival was Ingleburn Mayor from 1901-03.
My memory of Greg Percival was finding his credit cards spread along the road when he left them on top of his car. Knowing where he lived, I was able to return them to the rightful owner.
Look out for other caches to commemorate Ingleburn Pioneers.
Congratulations to Gatherer Hade for the very fast FTF
