Park at the trailhead given (next to Ballinvreena Thyme cache) and climb along a faint path through fileds, rough ground and forestry. While the walk is only a little over 500 m there is more than 100m of height gain and there are a few styles.Return by the same path and take in the wonderful views across the Golden Vale.
The forest road leads, in a little over 1km, to the Turning Circle cache and for those prepared for a good hike to Slieveriadh. This could also be included in a 14km walk from Kilfinane, taking in a series of caches.
