Geocache Description:

A simple off-set multi set in the attractive village of Great Milton, Oxfordshire. It involves looking for information, followed by 5 – 8 minutes’ walk to the cache location.

Great Milton Methodist Church was built in 1842. It is one of the smallest Methodist church buildings in the county. According to the census of 1851 there was a congregation of about 40. Methodism has continued in the village over the years.

The village has an attractive mix of large and small old houses and cottages, some of them thatched. Along the High Street there are wide grass verges and large houses. The oldest cottages, a group of 16th-century date, lie on the south-east of the green. They form a row of one storey and attics. They are built of rubble stone and are now colour-washed.

Opposite the church there is a seat with an inscription. You need the number of letters in certain words.

A = Sixth.

B = Third, minus the second.

C = Seventh, minus the fifth.

D = First, minus the sixth.

E = Eighteenth, minus the fourth.

F = The last, plus the fifth, plus the second.

The cache, which is a small, hanging black bison tube is at N51° 43.ABC  W001° 05.DEF  Allow time here for the signal to settle. Please bring your own pencil or pen. The total co-ordinates add up to 41.

Geocaching Etiquette. geocaching.com states under 'Help Center' in Paragraph 1.7: 'We like to keep things fun for everyone, so we have a few rules we encourage everyone to follow. Sign both the logbook and log your find online to get your smiley. Geocache owners love reading about your experience'. There are more rules, but this is the first one. This cache owner requests that if on the rare occasion geocachers are unable to sign, an explanation is given in their log. A photo of the cache, if possible should then be sent through the messaging system.
